Impression Description
The house stands yet it is broken. Parts of the roof and walls are….where? In this experimental transfer of the image from the computer to the gel plate not all of the house survived. That is both a learning moment in the execution and character at the same time. This is one of the few prints with added varnish to give it due protection and a satin smooth look and feel. Besides the smudge on the paper, the impression is good and will live more than one generation for sure.

What is a monotype print?
A monotype is a type of print whereby the printmaker starts with a clean plate the paper is pressed on after the image is created, and ends with a clean plate after the paper is pulled from it. It is, therefore, impossible to create the same image twice as opposed to monoprints. With a monoprint, the plate the paper is pressed on has the image permanently created in it using different techniques. Then it is possible to reproduce identical prints in smaller limited editions (or just only one of course).
All the impressions I make are monotypes. The gel plate is clean so I will have to start anew to create the next impression. This ensures you always will have a unique print that nobody else has.
