I washed the paper black with my hands — direct, physical, the decision made before a single colour touched the surface. Then I worked fast, with palette knives only, driving red across in wide horizontal strokes. The anger was real. This piece was the release of it — not a representation of rage but the thing itself, pressed into paper and left there.
Yellow-green broke through at the top almost against my own intentions. It shifted the temperature — not away from anger but deeper into it, into something more volatile than pure red alone. The black I laid down at the start keeps returning through the colour, refusing to disappear.
This piece brings that energy into a room unchanged. It doesn’t calm down on the wall. It doesn’t ask you to meet it halfway.
